Aqueous solution of anionic and non-ionic surfactants. Its characteristic features are high wettability and good dispergation and emulsifying properties.


REFAKTAN EBV is used in the textile industry for continuous dyeing of wool and PAD, for spraying of wool yarn and continuous dyeing of cellulose materials.

Product properties

REFAKTAN EBV is a yellowish liquid of an anionic character.

It increases solubility (dispersibility) of dyes

  • It improves diffusion of the dye inside the fiber
  • It accelerates dye fixation on the fiber
  • It improves utilization of the dyeing bath
  • It facilitates washing after dyeing
  • It features equalization effects
  • Efficient in the pH range of 2 to 12

    Product processing

    Continuous dyeing

    Quality of the wool material, especially good spinnability is maintained. Its main advantage is a short ageing time. Milder processing conditions are enabled by the use of more efficient auxiliary preparations with a more versatile effect.  

  • Continuous dyeing of combed wool 
  • Acidic 2:1 and 1:1 metal-complex dyes – Foulard process, ageing, washing drying.   

    The padding solution contains:


    15 to 35 g/liter


    5 to 12 g/liter

    Acetic acid 60% (or possibly formic acid)

    15 to 25 g/liter


    as necessary

    Well-solved dye is mixed with the thickener at a temperature of 90 to 95 °C, the solution is cooled down to 50 °C, REFAKTAN EBV is added and the mixture is stirred for 10 to 15 minutes. After that, acetic acid is added. This solution is used to pad the material in a Foulard machine (squeezing 100%), which is subsequently aged for 10 to 30 minutes with saturated steam. The time can be extended depending on the type of used dye and the required color shade. This is followed by washing and drying. REFAKTAN EBV is usually sufficient to remove not fixed dye and thickener during subsequent washing. For saturated colors ALMIPAL ABA is added.

    Wool yarn spraying

    Acidic, metal-complex dyes.

    REFAKTANT EBV is dosed into the dyeing bath containing a wetting agent, defoaming agent, thickener, acetic acid etc. in the quantity of 3 to 5 % (depending on the dyeing technique and used yarn). The “dyed” material is aged with saturated steam (fixation) having a temperature of 95 to 98 °C for 45 to 60 minutes. This is followed by washing and drying. 

    Semicontinuous dyeing of cellulose materials

    Substantive dyes, padding method 

    The padding solution contains:


    10 to 25 g/liter

    Alginate thickener 

    2 g/litre


    100 to 150 g/liter


    as necessary

    Padding temperature 20 to 25 °C, squeezing 70 to 80 %. This is followed by maturation in a lap for 10 to 24 hours, washing with cold and hot water, stabilization and rinsing. 

    Packaging, storage

    REFAKTAN EBV is usually supplied in PE cans with the volume of 25 or 50 liters or in other pre-agreed packages. It should be stored in closed packages. Protect against weather effects. Do not store exposed to direct sunlight or near sources of heat. Recommended storage temperature +5 to +25 oC.


    REFAKTAN EBV is transported by covered means of transport, it is not subject to ARD/RID regulations.

    Warranty period

    If the product is stored and transported in compliance with the conditions specified above, its warranty period is 6 months from the date of delivery from warehouse.
